| | Model of the car: | Acura CL | | | General comments: | As I was commuting home in traffic yesterday, the transmission quit on me at 45 mph. The engine kept revving but it wasn't in gear. The gear engaged intermittently the rest of the drive home. Scared the **** out of me. Had to have it towed to the dealership. The dealership told me that "there is something loose in the transmission and the whole thing has to be replaced and that even though my warranty had expired at 50k miles, there was an "extended" warranty on the transmission. They are replacing it and giving me a a rental, free of charge. After researching online, I find that this is a well known problem - and extremely dangerous.
